Ex-40 BELOW SUMMER Bassist Quits Touring/Performing Due To Hearing Loss
January 29, 2006Former 40 BELOW SUMMER bassist Hector "Hook" Graziani has been forced to leave his new band BLACK MARKET HERO after losing "a big percentage" of his hearing through years of rehearsing and performing. His official statement on the matter reads as follows:
"I never thought that this day would ever come, but what I'm about to say is one of the most hardest and most difficult things to do; so, I'll do it very short and sincerely...
"After thirteen years of non-stop playing, recording, performing music, touring and everything with it, I have to stop doing what I love doing the most... Why? Because I really never took care of my ears, I now have lost a big percentage of my hearing. I always took care and only thought about music, my bandmates, my fans and rock n' roll; but right now I have to take care of myself. So, I'm leaving my new band BLACK MARKET HERO. I wish my brothers in that band the best because they are the best and most dedicated muscians I've ever known. I also want to take this time to deeply thank 40 BELOW SUMMER (Max, Joey, Carlos and Jordan) for rescuing me, bringing me back to music and giving me the best years of my life. Also part of those amazing years have been made possible because of all the dedicated, loyal and undying supportive fans — you all know who you are and you are all the best! I also want to thank all the bands I shared the stage with... the tours, the backstage and onstage moments, as well as all those crazy Jager nights, will always live in my heart.
"To my family, gracias de todo corazon. Thanks for always supporting and accepting my absence all these years.
"To all my fellow muscians, please protect your ears don't wait until it's too late to do so.
"ROCK N' ROLL will always live in me and I will alway live in ROCK N' ROLL."
